Aim: Formation of one DOSST cell per society
- To spread awareness about PNDT act among members doing USG.
- To spread awareness about ill effects of female sex selection techniques and female feticide in general public.
- Create a media image of FOGSI being strongly condemning the female sex selection techniques and female feticide.
- To be a liaison with the appropriate authority and the representative State supervisory board.
- To review the effectiveness of the implementation of the act.
Formation:
Central DOSST cell:
This would compromise of the following:
- FOGSI President
- FOGSI Secretary General
- Members of DOSST cell
- Honorary members
- Eminent social worker
- Lawyer
- Pediatrician
Meeting of central DOSST:
- Once in six months
- Members should not hold term for more than two terms each of two years each.
Local DOSST cell: (At Ob. & Gyn. Society level)
This would comprise of the following
- President
- Secretary
- Members of DOSST cell (depending on Members of Society)
- Honorary Members
- Eminent social worker
- Lawyer
- Pediatrician
Functions:
- To conduct workshops and similar events to create awareness about PNDT act among members & dos & don’t of PCPNDT Act.
- To lay down code of conduct for FOGSI members.
- To conduct programs for general public to spread knowledge about ill effects of female sex selection techniques and female feticide.
- To form a “FOGSI-PNDT and MTP Self Audit” team to audit the MTP centers and PNDT centers of our members.
- Media interaction.
- Rallies and campaigns.
- Swearing in ceremony.
- To be liaison with the appropriate authority and the respective State supervisory board.
- To review the effectiveness of the implementation of the act.
Nomination:
- The President of the local society will nominate the members of the cell and inform the names to the FOGSI office.
